How a cabinet respray works
Doors and drawer fronts come off, get cleaned and sanded, and are sprayed off site in a controlled space for a factory-smooth finish, rather than brushed in place. The boxes that stay in the kitchen are sprayed or carefully brushed in place, with everything around them masked off.
Recent before and afters
Two real jobs are shown below: a kitchen taken from cherry to a soft blue-green, and an ensuite vanity refinished from dark maple to a warm off white. Drag the slider on each to compare.
What changes the price
The number of doors and drawers is the biggest factor. After that come the material, since laminate and thermofoil need a different primer than solid wood or MDF, whether the boxes are being finished too, and whether you are keeping the existing hardware. We give one fixed number after seeing the kitchen, and our cabinet painting cost guide walks through the general picture.
Repaint or replace
If the cabinet boxes themselves are solid, repainting gets you a new look without ripping out working cabinetry. It is a common request in older homes with dated cabinets.

BeforeAfterCabinet painting FAQ
Do you paint kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities?
Yes. Kitchen and vanity cabinetry are both part of the work, and both are shown in the before and afters above.
Are the cabinets sprayed at my house?
Doors and drawer fronts are removed and sprayed off site for a factory-smooth finish. The boxes that stay in place are sprayed or carefully brushed with everything around them masked.
Is painting cabinets cheaper than replacing them?
It usually is, especially when the existing boxes are solid. The exact number depends on the doors, drawers and material, so we quote after seeing the kitchen.
Which areas do you serve?
Georgetown, Guelph, Milton and Kitchener, plus Bolton for larger jobs.
